Things to know

The Company Holiday Manager

Taking time off on a Public Holiday shouldn't be a management headache; BettaWalka Pro makes it easy.
Just go to the Company Holiday page and enter a new holiday name and date. Review the displayed list of appointments, and then click Activate to cancel them all.
From that point on, BettaWalka Pro will prevents you from accidentally scheduling new appointments on that date. When you do want to make an appointment on the Holiday, BettaWalka Pro will intelligently select the correct holiday pricing.

Java Platform, Enterprise Edition (Java EE)

Java Platform, Enterprise Edition (Java EE) builds on the solid foundation of Java Platform, Standard Edition (Java SE) and is the industry standard for implementing enterprise-class service-oriented architecture (SOA) and next-generation web applications.

BettaWalka selected Java EE because of the proven portability, reliability and security provided by the Java programming language and the strong suite of proven server technology components available.

One key factor, important to the founders of BettaWalka, with their background in Safety-Critical Software development, is that the very nature of Java itself prevents many of the latent (hidden) bugs that are often left undetected when using server languages such as ASP.NET or PHP.

Apache Tomcat

The BettaWalka Pro server component, written using Java, runs on the Apache Tomcat application server. Apache Tomcat is an implementation of the Java Servlet and JavaServer Pages technologies, and is used by companies such as E*Trade, The Weather Channel and WalMart.com .

BettaWalka selected Apache Tomcat as it's application server technology because it allowed the use of the Java language for development, and for it's strong performance.

PostgreSQL

PostgreSQL is a powerful, open source relational database system. It has more than 15 years of active development and a proven architecture that has earned it a strong reputation for reliability, data integrity, and correctness. PostgreSQL is used by the industry giants such as Cisco, Genentech and Sun Microsystems. PostgreSQL is also in use in much of the US Government including the State Department and The National Weather Service.
